I’m excited to share with you a system that I have been using for my business that has changed my life!! When I first started my business, I was also working a full-time job (like many others), and I remember my “work”” hours were SO verrrrrry limited. Tasks like emailing, creating custom proposals, contracts, invoicing and keeping up with payments are crucial to your small business being able to operate… but those tasks take TIME! Even back then, I knew that the way I was operating wasn’t the simplest way, and that I needed to make a change!!
Honeybook.
This system has really transformed how I am able to communicate with clients, complete my business paperwork and keep track of each project and wedding I’m currently working on. My favorite feature of Honeybook is the “Pipeline.” This is the “Homepage” of the system, and it displays each bride and which stage they are in with regards to working with me. It begins with the initial inquiry and it follows the client all the way through their wedding. It tracks progress by showing when the client inquires, has a consultation with me, when they sign their contract, when they pay their retainer, etc. It’s helpful for me to get a quick view of their overall progress, and it gives me an idea of what needs to happen next! I see ALL of that information one one screen, and I can toggle through the different clients to get a more individualized view too.
Another thing that it important to me is to create a branded, streamlined client experience, and Honeybook does just that! Every email, contract and invoice a client sees is branded with my colors, logo and any other important info. It was a priority to me that any client management software seemed authentic to my brand and clients felt comfortable using it, and I love that my clients have a professional system they can use to make their lives simpler too.
One of my favorite ways to use Honeybook is to make the booking process as simple as possible. When a client is ready to book their wedding with me, it needs to be a seamless, straightforward process, and Honeybook makes it easy! I have all my contracts, email templates, and booking instructions already loaded in, so initiating the booking process is as simple as a click of a button once a client is ready! Honeybook automatically sends out invoices, payment plans and reminders too. So, no more awkward emails to draft to clients when their payments are past due; Honeybook has an automated system that handles that all for me!! Clients can also pay with a credit card (no fee for them), which is way more convenient than writing a check!
Honeybook also has other convienent features, like a widget I can plug into my website for inquires! When a potential bride inquires, their inquiry goes straight into my Honeybook Pipeline along with their wedding date, venue location and budget! I’m also able to add vendors to each of their clients workspaces in order to mass-share information about their wedding details all at once! It’s those little things that end up saving me a lot of time. They also offer time-tracking, so you can track how long it takes for you (or an employee), to complete tasks.
You can set up a custom workflow in Honeybook so you can automate tasks within your business in a much simpler and more streamlined way. Tasks that could be automated are things that you find yourself doing a lot of, over and over again, or even tasks you know you do for every single wedding, or project you take on! Finally, Honeybook also syncs directly with my Quickbooks, for easy accounting and finance tracking! So, a client books and pays within Honeybook, and then each transaction record rolls right over in Quickbooks, so I can log into Quickbooks and pull up a profit and loss statement, for example, in 2 seconds! Again, just another way that Honeybook makes my life easier by working with other softwares I use to create a seamless experience for me, and less hassle for my clients too!
