Courtney and Michael had an amazing wedding day at the Williamsburg Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia! The venue’s lovely neutral interior had a sophisticated feel with high ceilings, paneled walls, and so many beautiful spaces perfect for photos! For their wedding, they envisioned a summer-inspired color palette with bright coral, magenta, watermelon, peach and pops of white with anemones! To bring their floral vision to life, we used lots of coral charm peonies, ranunculus, dahlias, anemones, garden roses, and olive greenery as a nod to Courtney’s Greek heritage. It was SO fun designing with such rich, beautiful colors – and the combination of summer blooms smelled amazing!! The colors added such a fun pop to the space, and truly were so stunning against Courtney’s classy and elegant wedding dress and golden champagne bridesmaid dresses! To make Courtney’s blooms even more special, her bouquet included a sweet photo charm of Michael’s grandmother. Throughout the entire day, I was touched at how much love I saw between these two and their families!
We wanted to really make a statement in the reception space, so we displayed the bright floral centerpieces on tall gold flower stands surrounded by colorful taper candles, and long floral garlands accented with lovely olive branches throughout. We mixed the tall centerpieces with low compotes, for some visual contrast, and I loved the way all the colors and greenery came together! Courtney and Michael’s wedding day was photographed by Hannah Mayson Photography, who was wonderful, and it was a pleasure to work with the amazing staff at the Williamsburg Lodge. Courtney and Michael are an incredible couple – they are both SO sweet and it was amazing to get to know them though the planning process! After over a year of working closely together, I miss my text conversations and emails with sweet Courtney!! I was so honored and overjoyed to be a part of their wedding.
