I am SO excited to share a recap of the November Business and Floral Design workshop! We welcomed the workshop attendees into our home and studio for an entire day full of learning, laughter and the beginning of new friendships, and we all had an amazing time together! The attendees came from all over the East Coast- including flying in from Boston and New Hampshire, and then driving from Maryland and Virginia, and it was so fun being together and getting to know everyone!
We started off the day with coffee/tea and breakfast and then dove straight into the content- where I taught about the client experience, marketing, and the booking process. We talked about finding ideal clients, how to market your business in a smart way (mainly using social media marketing and cultivating vendor relationships), and how to book brides in a simple and straightforward way that doesn’t involve dozens of emails, time spent tweaking proposals and research! Those topics took us all the way up to lunch, where then we ate some delicious chili and snacks, (thanks Jason and Janna!) and then we jumped into the bouquet design!
I demonstrated how to design my signature bridal bouquet, and walked the attendees through the process, and then it was time for each of them design their own! It was so inspiring and refreshing watching each of them put their own spin on their bridal bouquets and seeing their style come to life! As they worked, I gave each attendee hands-on assistance, as needed, and got so excited seeing each of them designing! Then my amazing and talented friend Erika took head-shots and detail shots of each of the attendees and their bouquets so they could immediately put them to good use in their portfolios and for their social media! I have loved looking at the #courtneyinghramworkshop hashtag over the last few weeks to see them sharing all their pictures!!
Then we launched into a few more hours of content where I taught about pricing, ordering flowers, recipe building, sustainable systems, and more! We talked about how to create a no-haggle pricing system that works for you, in addition to a breakdown of flower ordering and recipes (what elements and types of flowers to include each time you create a wholesale order), and the systems to use to keep the business organized and to give each client a consistent and joy-filled experience!
It was such a joy to spend time with each of the attendees and learn about their businesses, goals, dreams and their lives, and I’m so honored that each one of them chose to invest in this educational experience! Thank you to my sweet new friends!! It was so hard to say goodbye- I didn’t want them to leave after such an amazing day together! But, I’m also REALLY excited to share the next workshop date and details coming SOON! If you want to be the first to get all the details and receive priority registration, pop your email into the box below to be added to our waitlist!
Our lovely attendees!! I was so blown away by how talented each of them are and their passion for wedding floral design! It’s so fulfilling to pour into each of them and then watch them continue to grow their businesses and bring joy through flowers to their own clients and brides!
And, of course I have to share their beautiful bouquets they designed! We had a collection of our hand-dyed silk ribbon for the attendees to choose from as well, to tie off their bouquets in ribbon streamers, and I loved seeing the colors they chose to give their bouquets that finishing touch! Erika did an amazing job on all the photos! This autumn-inspired color palette is definitely a new favorite!
Finally, I have to give a huge “thank you!” to a few of my people!
Jason: Thank you for going along with my crazy idea of opening up our home and sharing it- and then for working alongside me to make it happen! Also you’re incredible and I’m so grateful for you for handling all the food prep, making the meals and making sure the kitchen was clean- among many other things- I know I’m so blessed to have you! <3
My mom/MIL: Thank you both SO much for your help leading up to this workshop!! Mom, for watching Violet several times that weekend, and the entire day of the workshop, (I know she can be a handful), and Janna for cleaning and making our house sparkle! You both are amazing, and your never-ending support means the world to me!
Shannon: Thank you so much for always helping me at the drop of a hat and designing the beautiful signs for the workshop (see more of her beautiful calligraphy work here)- and for running my Instagram the day of and sticking around to help and just making sure the day ran smoothly! You’re the absolute best!!
Erika (and Josh!): Thank you guys for coming here and sharing your talent with us! I am so grateful to call you both friends, and I’m so thankful for all your support over the years! The attendees were absolutely blown away with their portfolio images, and I am always amazed at how you are true artists! You just “get” me! 🙂
