Alexandra and Hayden had the most beautiful and joyous wedding day at Westover Plantation, in Charles City, Virginia. The plantation is situated right on the water, and Westover has the most beautiful grounds and gardens you can walk through, and a lovely horse stable, right near where the sailcloth tent was situated. The very first time I talked to Ali, I knew we would have an amazing time working together- she and Luciana, with Luxe and Luna Event Design, had dreamed up a mauve and dusty rose wedding design, with lots of thoughtful and unique details. With their wedding being at the end of March, there were SO many gorgeous early springtime blooms available, including hellebore, garden roses, lisianthus, lilac, sweet pea, and more! Ali’s bouquet was overflowing with these fragrant beauties, and was tied off with a collection of my hand-dyed silk ribbons, in blush, cappuccino and white, and the bridesmaid bouquets were all tied off in blush. Ali’s wedding dress was absolutely beautiful, with the most exquisite lace detailing, and it was complimented by the bridesmaid dresses, in shades of mauve, dusty rose and blackberry. So pretty!! The ceremony focal point were three wooden orb chandelier lights, adorned with natural draping greenery and pops of blooms, and we draped some dark greenery around the chairs lining the aisle too! The reception was on the lawn adjacent to Westover Plantation, outside under a dramatic sailcloth tent, and the details in this space blew me away!! We designed a hanging square floral installation, filled with draping greenery and pops of coordinating blooms, and each table had a different vignettes, with petite vases, lush compotes filled with flowers, taper candles in brass candlesticks, and more!
