Meghan and Zach had an absolutely beautiful wedding at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens, one of my favorite wedding venues in Hampton Roads! They were married on a rainy July day, but luckily with a great venue like the Botanical Gardens, their wedding ceremony was easily transferred indoors, and it was SO lovely! From the first time I talked with Meghan, I just knew we would be friends! She is a teacher, a puppy mom, and a lover of succulents, all some of my own favorite things too ๐Ÿ™‚ She envisioned neutral flowers, in shades of white with varying types of greenery and succulents. We used flowers like garden roses, veronica, stock, and more to give the bouquets and arrangements a textured, whimsical look. I also tied off their bouquets in textured grey silk ribbon streamers, and Meghan’s bouquet was seriously one of my most favorite I’ve ever designed, and it smelled heavenly!! Their wedding day was photographed by Valerie Demo Photography,  who did such a great job, and I also loved working alongside by good friend, Sterling, of Sterling Dawn Events, who planned their wedding day!! Check out the end of this post for the vendors who each played a part in Meghan and Zach’s wedding day- and enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Josh and Erika are two dear friends of mine, so when they asked me to design the flowers for their engagement session, I was honored! I also had the privilege of designing the flower arch and bouquet for Erika when Josh proposed over at Pippin Hill, in Charlottesville, (literally that day was a DREAM), and designing the flowers for Erika’s bridesmaid brunch over at the Quirk Hotel (again, literally such a fun day), so when they asked me to be a part of this day, I just knew it would be perfect! Erika has impeccable style, and always looks like she stepped straight out of a magazine, and Josh looks so dapper in that suit jacket! They each have their own businesses, with Erika running Erika Lynn Photography, and Josh running Joshua Bryan Weddings, where he is filmmaker, but they frequently help each other out on wedding days, by assisting/second shooting, and you can just tell that they are such a unified team!! When they told me that Annamarie Akins was their wedding photographer, and that she was shooting their engagement session in Downtown Richmond, I was SO excited! And, Style Me Pretty loved their session too- so much so that it was featured on their blog this past summer! See the vendor credits at the end of this post for the full details, and check out the feature on Style Me Pretty here: https://www.stylemepretty.com/2017/07/05/modern-city-chic-engagement/

Amanda and D’Angelo were married on a sunshine-filled July day,  at Morais Vineyard near Fredericksburg, Virginia! The very first time I talked with Amanda, I just KNEW we would have such a blast working together!! She is a very talented wedding photographer, and she had so many creative and unique ideas to make her and D’Angelo’s wedding so special!! Amanda and D’Angelo’s wedding was filled with white and blush florals, including the most dreamy peonies that filled Amanda’s bouquet, the ceremony flowers and the centerpieces, and they smelled AMAZING. A huge fluffy peony bouquet was Amanda’s “must-have”, and I was so excited for her to see her beautiful bouquet once she arrived to the venue that day!  Their whole day was filled with FUN details, like having a Kona Ice Truck for guests after the ceremony (such a good idea), huge balloons that spelled out “Boyce”, welcomed guests to Morais Vineyards, and Amanda’s stunning outfit change into a gorgeous rose gold dress during the reception! And of course, being a dog mom myself, I loved that Amanda and D’Angelo included their 3 dogs in the festivities as well. All the amazing details of their day were captured perfectly by the sweet and talented Hope Taylor Photography and I loved being able to work alongside her and an awesome team of friends who all work together frequently, which always makes wedding days run so smoothly! Check out the end of this post for the vendors who each played a part in Amanda and D’Angelo’s wedding day- and enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚

I recently did an Instagram story series on the topic of booking your wedding florist, and I was BLOWN AWAY by all the responses I got from brides and fellow wedding vendors that tuned in! Since Instagram stories expire, I thought I should share my thoughts in a more “permanent” way by blogging about my own booking process process and I would love to hear others feedback as well!

Morgan and Ryan were married on a gorgeous June day, outdoors at Big Spring Farm in Lexington, Virginia! From the very first consultation I had with Morgan, I immediately knew I had found a new friend- we have so much in common! ๐Ÿ™‚ I absolutely loved being able to work with her (and her sweet mom) throughout the planning process, and by the time the big day had arrived, I felt a little sad knowing that we didn’t have anymore flower meetings scheduled so we could catch up!! Morgan and Ryan’s wedding was filled with romantic pastel colors and soft textures, and I loved being able to use some of my favorite flowers for their wedding, like peonies, ranunculus, lavender, eucalyptus, and garden roses (and all the flowers smelled AMAZING!!!) Morgan’s one big request was having white anemones in her bridal bouquet, so when I got them delivered that week and they came in so perfectly that I just HAD to share a picture with her before the big day! She was so excited, and I just knew her bouquet would be a new favorite of mine!! And the bridesmaid bouquets full of eucalyptus and white fluffy peonies paired perfectly with their mismatched, but still coordinating dresses in shades of blush and lavender- so obsessed!!! All the sweet details of their day were captured perfectly by Kimberly Florence Photography, and I loved seeing all the thoughtful touches that Ryan and Morgan had incorporated into their wedding day! Big Spring Farm was the perfect setting for their whimsical and fun wedding, and I am SO excited to be able to share some of the details here! Check out the end of this post for the vendors who all played a part in M&R’s wedding day- and enjoy! ๐Ÿ™‚
