am SO excited to share a recap of the January Business and Floral Design workshop! We welcomed the workshop attendees into our home and studio for an entire day full of learning, laughter and the beginning of new friendships, and we all had an amazing time together! The attendees came in Virginia and Pennsylvania, and it was so fun being together and getting to know everyone!

We started off the day with coffee/tea and breakfast and then dove straight into the content…

I have been slacking on the blog lately! I have been so busy, with our move to Richmond, weddings, just life in general… but I am so excited to share some gorgeous photos from Jess and Ryan’s April wedding today on the blog. 🙂 Jess and Ryan were friends with Jason, my husband, in college, so I was so honored when I was able to design their wedding flowers for them!! 🙂 Jess and I quickly bonded over spending a lot of time watching the guys play baseball at William & Mary, and I can’t wait until live closer to them (it WILL happen) so Jess and I can hang out and do wedding stuff together all day! Their wedding photographer, Sarah Brookhart Photography, did an amazing job on the photos- I am OBSESSED with them, and Walker’s Overlook in Walkersville, Maryland, was the picture-perfect location for their romantic outdoor wedding!! Enjoy these flower-filled photos, and enjoy your weekend! I know I will, since it is our ONE YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! I cannot believe it has already been a year since I married the love of my life <3

Your wedding florist plays a key role in your wedding planning process. Traditionally, flowers are the most expensive and customized décor you have invested in for your wedding and flowers can enhance your wedding and bring it to a whole new level!!! Wedding Floral Designers have the unique task of seeing your inspirational images, getting to know you and your wedding vision, and then using their creativity, knowledge of floral design and personal style to create the wedding flowers of your DREAMS!! That all being said… there are a few things that your floral designer would want you to know about your wedding:

Pinterest. This website has become an absolutely massive source of inspiration and creativity for women and men all over the globe, and a the most popular topic searched on Pinterest is weddings!! Now don’t get me wrong- I LOVE Pinterest. I’m on it way too much, and I love looking at all things weddings, and house decor, summer drink recipes, fashion, DIY projects… The list goes on.  As much as I use Pinterest, there is a slight issue with it for brides browsing for wedding inspiration. Pinterest can (unknowingly) “set the bar” way too high for brides!!

Well the first CIE wedding of the season was this past weekend, and it was a STUNNER!! Raise the Ruth Events did a fabulous job creating a gorgeous reception and curating lovely details to transform a church gymnasium into a gorgeous, classy space!!! I was honored to be able to design the flowers for Sarah, and Chelsea Anderson Photography captured all the beautiful details.

I’m excited to share with you a system that I have been using for my business that has changed my life!! When I first started my business, I was also working a full-time job (like many others), and I remember my “work”” hours were SO verrrrrry limited. Tasks like emailing, creating custom proposals, contracts, invoicing and keeping up with payments are crucial to your small business being able to operate… but those tasks take TIME! Even back then, I knew that the way I was operating wasn’t the simplest way, and that I needed to make a change!! Before I introduce you to my secret weapon, I do just want to say that this company did not pay me to promote their product or write this post; I simply want to write it so that you know all about this system and how it can help YOU!
