Karen and Tim’s Albemarle Estate at Trump Winery fall wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia was an absolute dream!! I loved working with these two lovebirds to create their romantic red and dusty rose colored floral designs, and they had perfect early fall weather in the mountains for their intimate, elegant wedding. I had never been to the Albemarle Estate in Charlottesville, and it was quite a treat!! I loved working with a great team of vendors, including Tara Liebeck Photography, who captured all the beautiful moments throughout the day, and have listed the rest of the team below!! Enjoy this beautiful wedding! ๐Ÿ™‚

This dreamy Charlottesville, Virginia wedding was one of my FAVORITES this year!!! When Jessica and I first talked about her organic, gold-infused, candlelit, winter wedding at Early Mountain Vineyards near Charlottesville, I knew it was going to be absolutely breathtaking! Jessica was the sweetest bride to work with, and being an interior designer herself, has impeccable taste and an amazing vision for her wedding- I literally was counting the days until her gorgeous day!! She dreamt of a romantic soiree, with lots of lush greenery and pops of white flowers!! SWOON! To compliment that, I used anemones, white garden roses, veronica, ranunculus and a variety of greenery, including eucalyptus! This was such a wonderful way to end my 2016 wedding season, and I truly enjoyed every minute of their wedding, including working with an amazing vendor team! Enjoy these photos, taken by Audrey Rose Photography and scroll to the bottom to see the rest of the dream team that brought Jessica and John’s wedding to life!

This beautiful Charlottesville wedding was one for the books, y’all!! When I first met Corinne, several months prior to her wedding, I fell in love with her all-white, rustic yet elegant wedding day vision. We used flowers such as David Austin garden roses, ranunculus, dusty miller, eucalyptus and snowberries, and the flowers were the perfect addition to the classic look of the Trump Winery Barn and Pavilion. Corinne was such a joy to work with throughout the planning process, and the love that she shares with Tim was so evident throughout their wedding day- she was absolutely radiant! ๐Ÿ™‚ I truly enjoyed working with her, and I am honored that she chose me to be her wedding florist; best wishes to this amazing couple!! ๐Ÿ™‚ The vendor team who brought this wedding to life is listed below; enjoy these gorgeous photos taken by Alisandra Photography!

I certainly don’t attribute all my business growth to my own deeds- the creative community around me is so strong and supportive, and I am SO thankful for all the wisdom, advice and learning I have gleaned from my creative friends! In the past year and a half, CIE has grown from a little dream in my wedding-obsessed head, to a full-scale floral and wedding design and planning boutique. How did it happen, you ask? Here are 10 tips that I embraced to help me open my creative small business!

Color palettes. They can be one of the more difficult things to nail down for your wedding, and creating a color palette can really determine the entire theme/style of your celebration! There are so many different options with color; you can use muted shades, bold shades, many shades, one shade… dark shades, light shades, neutral shades… the possibilities are truly endless! In my time spent as a floral/wedding designer, I am always helping my brides narrow down and really focus in on a color palette, and I wanted to share a few of my tips (and the free color board program I use!!) with you today!
